Most people think of massages and facials when they think of spa treatments, but spas have a much wider variety of offered services too. Spas also offer services for the rest of the body like manicures, pedicures, and hair-removal treatments. In addition, certain skin care procedures previously available only at hospitals are also now offered at spas. More modern spas today also offer energy work, Ayurvedic consultations, tarot card readings, and thalassotherapy. So what exactly are some of these spa treatments you can get? Here we find out:
Massage
A massage is definitely one thing that will always be on all spas’ services list. Getting a massage feels good and it also offers lots of health benefits. Without question, it is the most popularly requested spa treatment there is. There are many different styles of massage these days and we’ve previously discussed some of them in recent articles too. Facials
Facials are skin care treatments that include exfoliation, steam, moisturizers, masks, and peels, to name a few. These treatments aim to remove the dry and dull cells from the skin’s surface. On the other hand, some treatments are meant to increase circulation, remove clogged pores, and hydrate the new layer of skin.
Manicure and Pedicure
Most spas offer both nail treatments for both the hands and feet. These same treatments can be found at any nail salon or beauty salon too. However, the difference is, spa treatments will go the extra mile by trying to exfoliate and soften the skin too.
Waxing and Hair Removal
Waxing, Brazilian waxing, sugaring, and eyebrow shaping are all usually best done at spas. The reason? Well, you do want people who are waxing specialists to do the the treatments, right? Also, you do want high standards in terms of cleanliness and sanitation, right? All of these are possible in reputable spas.
Medical Treatments
Not all spas offer medical procedures. However, these days, more and more spas are starting to offer skin treatments that used to only be available at a physician’s office. You can now have microdermabrasion, CACI face-lifts, and Botox injections done in some spas. You can also try if your local spa offers Restylane, Juvederm, laser hair removal, and pulsed-light hair removal.
