Diagnosing
You know that nerve neuropathy, also known as peripheral neuropathy is a frustrating condition. If you experience feelings of numbness, tingling, pain, and pressure in your limbs, often that will not go away, these are potential symptoms. If you experience these things, you should see your doctor straight away to get a proper diagnosis. The sooner the underlying cause is determined, the sooner you can treat it.
Did you know that there can be a very wide variety of things that cause nerve neuropathy? You have likely heard of diabetes, but other common causes include a poor diet, too much alcohol, kidney disease, smoking, herniated discs, and hereditary diseases.
You can treat the symptoms with your doctor’s help. However, they should also try to find the cause as well. By determining the cause of your nerve neuropathy, you can hopefully stop more damage.
If your nerves receive too much damage, they can die. You can wind up with fewer nerve endings on the skin surface. This means that you would not be able to feel things as well as before. This is called nerve atrophy. You really want to avoid that.
Treatment
Fortunately there are many treatment options. You just need to find the one that is best for you. Work with your doctor to determine which options seem most appealing. Do you prefer natural options, like acupuncture? Or you may need medication.
You can try doctor approved exercising to help. This often stimulates repair in our bodies. If you have certain conditions you will have limited exercise options, like a herniated disc. If that is the case, then only partake in activities you have been approved for. Or, wait until after the physical issue is resolved and you are cleared to exercise freely.
You are making the right choice by diagnosing your problems. This will lead to understanding your case and hopeful recovery! You can do it.
