Tesla Roadster 2020

May 21, 2019 By Elizabeth Leave a Comment

The Car of the Future

This impressively sleek supercar looks like something stolen straight from a science fiction movie, matching it up with Tesla’s other models. It really seems like Tesla have been borrowing their designs from the future. going so far as to even removing the door handles on the Tesla Roadster and choosing a touch device on the window instead. The Roadster sure has come a long way since the electric lotus that was Tesla’s first car.

Tesla Roadster Details

According to Tesla, the specs of this rocket ship with wheels put it at having an acceleration of 0-60 mph in just 1.9 seconds. If found to be true, the Tesla Roadster would be the fastest accelerating car ever made! As well as a boasted top speed of over 250 mph! These impressive number put it with the most ridiculous Lamborghini and Ferrari supercars. Expected to sell at around $200,000, putting it at only a fraction of the price. So expect to be seeing plenty of these around after a few years of production.

Tesla has also stated that the Roadster should have a range of 620 miles at highway speeds. Truly an insane range for a car that can do 0-60mph faster than an F1 car! The only thing that I found disappointing about the Roadster is that even though it will perform like a supercar, it never will be able to produce an exciting exhaust note.

A Rocket Powered Car?

Tesla founder and eccentric billionaire Elon Musk revealed that a potential trim level for the Tesla Roadster would be the ‘SpaceX package’. This option would add ten cold-gas thrusters to the car! These things get used in rockets! These rockets would cost who-knows how much, as well as replacing the back seats of the Roadster. Who knows, maybe in 10 years everyone’s cars will have rockets on them?

Random Fact

Ben and Jerry's sends the waste from making ice cream to local pig farmers to use as feed. Pigs love the stuff, except for one flavor: Mint Oreo.
