But what music exactly? Or what genre specifically? Here are now tips on choosing the right workout music.
It might not seem like it, but the first song you choose as you start your workout can set the tone. For most people, getting started is the hardest part, so kicking off with a highly motivational song will do the trick. In general, your current favorite song that makes you dance like fool is most likely your jump-start song.
Having a variety of songs from different genres will break up the monotony of your workout, especially if your workout routine will take some time to finish. In general, the best workout songs should be fast, mid-tempo, uplifting, nostalgic, or even funny. Genres such as techno, trance, dance, and pop will do too.
Choose songs with lyrics. Although we did suggest that you have techno or trance songs in your playlists, which is mostly just instruments, having songs with motivational themes and lyrics is also a good idea. Specifically, do choose songs that are catchy, feel-good, you can relate to, and easy to sing along with.
After your workout and once you are proceeding to the cool down, continue playing your work-out songs. The reason is because, in doings so, your energy levels won’t instantly. Playing your workout music will keep you going for you to be able to perform proper cool down.
